An easy make-ahead breakfast that is sweet and filling. Best served with maple or homemade buttermilk syrup.
Ingredients

large loaf of country french bread

cup
whole milk
1
cup
heavy cream
4
eggs

tsp
cinnamon

nutmeg

tsp
vanilla extract

brown sugar

berries
Crumble Topping
1/2
cup
all-purpose flour
3/4
cup
brown sugar

tsp
cinnamon
1/2
cup
unsalted butter

Instructions
In a bowl, mix the milk, heavy cream, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and brown sugar until everything is fully combined.
Spray a 9x13 pan with non-stick spray
Cut the bread into cubes and pour the bread cubes into the 9x13 pan
Slowly pour the egg mixture on top of the bread, making sure to get all the bread coated.
Sprinkle the berries on top of the bread.
In another bowl add the crumble flour, brown sugar and cinnamon
Cut the butter into small cubes, mix the butter into the crumble ingredients
Break the butter up into smaller pieces with a pastry knife or your fingers
Sprinkle the crumble topping on top of the soaked bread
Cover the 9x13 pan with tinfoil and place in the fridge to sit overnight
In the morning, preheat your oven to 425 degrees
Bake the french toast casserole for 20 minutes with the tinfoil still on
After 20 minutes, remove the tinfoil and bake for an additional 10 minutes
Remove and allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving
Serve with pancake syrup!
