These mouth watering old fashioned goodies are a tribute to your grandma’s past. Little hands will love helping you pack the popcorn into a ball. Perfect for holiday gifts, parties, dessert platters and so much more!
In a air popper, pop 1 cup of kernels. Follow your machine’s instructions, most machines recommend only 1/4 cup of kernels at a time
Place popcorn in a large mixing bowl
In a large sauce pan, pour in sugar, honey, sweetened condensed milk, butter & salt
Place over medium heat and stir until sugar is melted
Put a candy thermometer in the mixture and continue to stir periodically
Once mixture has reached soft ball stage (234 degrees), promptly take off the heat
Pour candy mixture over popcorn and stir together with a large wooden spoon
Pour out coated popcorn onto parchment paper to cool
Once popcorn is cool enough to touch (cool, but still warm), grab a handful of popcorn and pack it tightly in both hands. This take some force to mold together. Repeat with rest of popcorn
Note: If you rather, you can stop at step 8 and not pack popcorn into balls
