These gooey, extra marshmallow rice krispie treats have a secret ingredient: warm and caramel-like browned butter. Dipped in chocolate and made to look like a cute, festive mummy!
In a medium-sized saucepan, add the 12 tbsp butter and allow it to come to a boil. Once it is boiling, keep an eye on it. As soon as the butter froths up and stops making popping sounds, it is done and browned. If you stir the butter, you should see small brown flecks.
Add the 16 ounce mini marshmallows and stir until they are fully melted.
Pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the measured out cereal. Stir with a large wooden spoon until the cereal is covered.
Add the additional 8 ounces of mini marshmallows and fold them into the cereal mixture.
Pour the cereal treat out onto a large parchment paper. Press down to flatten to the thickness you desire.
Allow the treat to cool a bit before slicing.
Topping
Melt the 12 ounces of white chocolate in a microwave safe bowl in the microwave, heating 30 seconds at a time and stirring thoroughly after each heating.
Once the white chocolate is fully melted, dip the top of each rice krispie treat in the melted. Shake off any excess. Place the treat on parchment paper and allow the chocolate to set.
Once the first layer is set, drizzle the remaining chocolate on top of each treat to look like mummy wrappings.
While the second layer of chocolate is still wet, carefully place 2 eye sprinkles on each treat.
