This recipe fits perfectly into the world of homemade ice cream pops and DIY desserts. It’s an ideal summer snack, whipped up in the Ninja Slushi machine. Make use of frozen treat bags, get creative with toppings, and turn a basic mix into creamy ice cream pops your whole family will love.

The Chemistry of Ninja Slushi Ice Cream Pops

The magic here starts with temperature control and balance of fat and sugar. Heavy cream brings the richness and creaminess, while milk ensures a smooth texture. Granulated sugar helps prevent iciness by lowering the freeze point, and vanilla extract rounds everything out with deep flavor. When you pour the mixture into your slushie machine and hit that milkshake preset button, the machine churns and chills simultaneously using its rapid chill technology, achieving an optimal, scoopable texture. Freezing that churned mixture in narrow bags completes the process, delivering a creamy pop that isn’t overly icy or hard.

Recipe Troubleshooting

Icy or rock-hard pop? This means the mix is too thin or the preset button isn’t used correctly.

Spillage while pouring? Those narrow frozen treat bags can be a challenge! Using a funnel or an easy-fill vessel helps immensely.

Toppings sink or clump? This can happen if it is folded too soon- wait until after churning to mix those in.

Uneven freezing? That can happen if bags aren’t laid flat, or if your freezer isn’t at an optimal temperature for rapid freezing.

Can I use dairy-free milk like almond or oat milk? Yes! Just ensure the milk has enough fat content or add coconut cream for creaminess.

How long should I churn it in the Ninja Slushi? Use the milkshake preset, which usually runs for 30-45 minutes, depending on your model.

Pops sticking inside the bags? Try briefly running warm water over the outside before removing.

Slushie machine not working properly? Be sure to run a rinse cycle and check the settings.

Present these frozen beauties on a tray of crushed ice for summer BBQs. Dress them up by dipping tops in my homemade fudge sauce and blue sprinkles or crushed crispy chocolate chip cookies before freezing. Add flair with striped paper sleeves, personalized labels, or themed colors for parties. Pair them with fresh fruit skewers and my refreshing patriotic mocktails, or go bold and mix in alcoholic drinks for adult-only versions. They are perfect for poolside BBQs to pair with my favorite classic cheeseburgers and my perfect homemade fries.

Freezing Tips

These homemade ice cream pops are creamy, smooth, and easy to make right in your Ninja Slushi machine. Whether you’re planning a pool party or looking for a no-mess frozen treat on a hot day, this recipe has you covered. Made with just four simple ingredients- milk, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract- this is a frozen dessert you’ll want to make again and again. With preset settings and rapid chill technology, you’ll have perfect pops in no time!

Storage Tips

Once frozen, transfer the pops to a sealed freezer-safe container or layer in zip-top bags to protect them from freezer burn. They stay fresh for up to 3 weeks, though they rarely last that long in our house.

Freezer- These are made for freezing. Just ensure bags are laid flat while freezing to prevent irregular shapes. Once frozen, store vertically in a narrow bin to save counter space and keep them organized.

Make- Ahead – Make a big batch of the base, churn once, and split into multiple flavors. You can also freeze the base into ice cube trays, then blend with milk or cream to make single-serve pops or shakes on demand. The entire process is quick, fun, and perfect for prepping days in advance.
